Personally Speaking

If you are searching for a lifestyle filled with golf, tennis, horses, cultural activities, or simply a relaxed small-town atmosphere with lots of sophistication, welcome to the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area and the Sandhills of North Carolina.

In today's market both buyers and sellers require and deserve the best. They require someone who knows the area, is skilled in the market and has the understanding and skills to work with both buyers and sellers. I am a native North Carolinian, residing in Pinehurst since 1977.

I did my undergraduate work at East Carolina University and completed my masters in speech pathology and my doctorate in educational leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have previously worked as a clinical speech pathologist, consultant to public schools, college professor and as a Director of Programs for Exceptional Children. Last, but more importantly, I helped my husband build his dental practice, raised our children and found time to volunteer in our community projects. I am an avid golfer and enjoy finding time to "tee it up" with family and friends.

The Sandhills is a special place to live and I welcome and look forward to sharing my knowledge of the area with you. I have been a broker/realtor for over a decade and take pride in marketing a variety of properties and having successful sales on both ends of the spectrum. Communicating with sellers to price homes correctly and with buyers to determine their lifestyle needs requires a well-refined agent. Reflective listening and asking the right questions is imperative. Representing both buyers and sellers and pricing a home all require advanced skills. I am an Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR), indicating a benchmark of outstanding service in representing buyers. I also hold the Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) designation, which represents an increased knowledge in the professional and ethical skills necessary to work with sellers. Knowledge, research, technology and best practices are inclusive in this.

Lastly, I hold the SPS designation, which affords advanced skills in pricing homes. Pricing a home is not putting a number on a home; it is a strategy.  The strategy includes understanding buyer motivation, understanding market trends and market data as well as a comparative market analysis. Homes that are priced correctly sell three times faster than those that are not.

If you are in the market to purchase a home or are ready to sell your current home, let me be your guide to real estate in the Sandhills. Buying and selling a home is about timing and opportunity. This is the time to MAKE YOUR MOVE.
